How to design a hotel for your hotel?
There are some simple tips to keep you from losing your cool and ruining your guests’ vacation.
Hotel owners and managers have a lot of latitude to decide how to build their hotels, but there are also some basic guidelines that you should always adhere to.
Hotels must have enough space to accommodate up to 10 guests.
The length of the hotel should not exceed 2,500 square feet (9.3 square meters) and the width should not be less than 2,000 square feet.
The hotel must have a minimum of 10 guest rooms.
Each guest room should have at least two bathrooms, two closets, two shower stalls, and two bedrooms.
The number of guests allowed to stay in the hotel is limited to two per guest.
HotELs should be designed to provide room and board, not amenities.
The guestroom should not have a screen or other devices that could interfere with the use of the room.
Guest rooms should be separated from other rooms by a curtain or other barrier that is visible to guests.
HotELS should be located at least 1,000 feet (305 meters) away from a road, water source, and the nearest pedestrian or bicycle path.
Guest suites should have a separate living area and be separated by a separate door.
If a guest suite is in the same room as a guest room, it should be equipped with a separate shower and bathroom.
The bathroom should have two stalls and a separate entrance.
The floor should be covered with a tile or other material.
If the floor is carpeted or tile, it must be clean and free of any odors or grime.
A washroom should be separate from other areas of the guest room.
The size of the washroom must not exceed 6 inches (15 centimeters) long by 7 inches (18 centimeters) wide by 3 inches (10 centimeters) deep.
The toilet must be placed at the edge of the bathtub.
The ceiling of the bathroom should not obstruct the view of guests’ rooms.
If guests do not have access to the bathroom, the guestroom must have the capacity to accommodate guests and other guests.
If you are designing a hotel, you must also ensure that it is located in an area that is at least a mile away from any public transportation system or other major transportation infrastructure.
Hoteling may also have to be built on a large site, which means that a lot will have to go into building the hotel.
In addition to all the other guidelines listed above, hotels should also follow the International Residential Code, which provides guidelines for the design and building of hotels.
The International Residential Codes are published by the International Association of Fire Insurance Companies and are considered by the insurance industry to be the most rigorous standards for the safety of all structures and facilities.
These codes require that all structures built on private land or buildings shall be designed so that occupants and guests will not be subjected to hazards.
The codes also require that a building must be designed with the following features:An appropriate drainage system.
In case of flooding, sprinklers and other devices must be installed to provide adequate water for the building.
The building must have sufficient fireproofing.
A fire alarm system must be activated to provide a warning to all occupants when the building becomes overcrowded.
The alarm must be turned on when the number of occupants exceeds 40.
Hotelling and the use and care of guest rooms, guest suites, and other guest accommodations are among the major issues associated with the design of new and existing hotels.
